About Tapestry – Award Winning Garden Design
We are a landscaping design company based in Essex that designs across southern and eastern England.
At the heart of our company is qualified and experienced garden designer and landscaping designers.
Tapestry Design Studios is the brainchild of award winning landscapers Holland Landscapes. Over the years, the Directors of Holland Landscapes, Chris and Paul Baker have worked with lots of clients. Very often, people realise that their garden isn’t meeting its full potential, but simply don’t know how to improve it.
The most stunning gardens are created when client and landscaper have the same understanding of what is needed. A good garden designer can make that happen. Tapestry Design Studios was originally started to help Holland Landscapes’ clients to process their ideas. However the business has been far more successful than Chris and Paul could have hoped for. Tapestry Design Studios’ clients now include householders, landlords, landscapers and property developers who enjoy the team’s creative yet practical approach to garden design.

Our design ethos
We like to take a holistic approach to garden design. Everything is considered. From the personalities and needs of the people using the garden, to the build budget and the practicalities of getting landscaping plant and machinery on site if needed. Our aim is for our clients to have a smooth and trouble-free journey from their existing space to their perfect garden.
Our design team
Head garden designer Katie Moyes has a first class diploma in garden design from Writtle College and an RHS Diploma in Horticulture. More importantly she has a wealth of experience in designing and a true empathy with clients.
Katie works closely with Directors Chris and Paul Baker to design beautiful gardens that are unique, stylish, practical and will mature gracefully alongside their owners.
How we design
Our garden designs begin not with the space, but with the people who will be using them. We aim to make your outdoor rooms to be stylish, beautiful, engaging and personal to you. Which means ensuring that they appeal to all of your sensory qualities. We put you and your family at the centre of the design process.
It’s important to the Tapestry team that every penny of your garden build budget counts. Each corner, each nook and cranny and every plant will have a purpose. From the storage shed to the seating area, we aim to infuse your garden with beauty and practicality.
A Tapestry Design Studios creation also takes into account the practicalities and the cost of building your new garden. Having an experienced landscaper on the team means that we understand the groundworks and labour costs needed to create any aspect of the design. Whether you opt to use our recommended landscaping team or to organise the work yourself, a Tapestry Design Studios garden will have all foreseeable problems ironed out before the project begins.

Turning your garden design into reality
Once you have a garden design that you love, you will need a landscape contractor to bring it to life. For gardens in Essex and Suffolk, we recommend Holland Landscapes from Colchester. Chris and Paul Baker are Directors of both Holland Landscapes and Tapestry Design Studios and work with us to provide a comprehensive garden design and build service.
If you are a landscaper or you have a contractor in mind, we are more than willing to provide construction drawings if required and to be on hand for project monitoring and technical questions.
