Tapestry Design Studios was created from a simple belief: exceptional gardens are achieved when inspired design is supported by genuine construction expertise. Combining decades of award-winning landscaping experience with a passion for thoughtful garden design, we create outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and buildable. Every project is approached with creativity, technical understanding and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the journey from initial concept to completed garden is as seamless and rewarding as the landscape itself.
Tapestry Design Studios was founded through a passion for creating exceptional gardens that feel both beautifully considered and deeply personal. As the sister company to the multi-award-winning landscaping company Holland Landscapes, our studio was born from decades of practical experience designing and building outdoor spaces of lasting quality and distinction.
Over the years, Paul and Chris Baker have worked closely with countless homeowners who recognised the untapped potential within their gardens, yet were unsure how best to transform them. Tapestry Design Studios was created to bridge that gap—bringing together creativity, technical understanding and construction expertise to shape landscapes that enhance both the home and the way people live outdoors.

The most successful gardens are created when creativity and craftsmanship work seamlessly together. At Tapestry Design Studios, our unique combination of design, horticultural knowledge and extensive landscaping experience allows us to create gardens that are not only visually striking, but expertly considered in every practical detail.
Our understanding of both design and construction ensures ideas are translated into reality with clarity and precision, allowing the original vision for the garden to be realised exactly as intended. Every space is approached individually, resulting in landscapes that feel refined, timeless and entirely unique to each client.
Our vision is to create beautifully designed gardens that enrich everyday living and establish a deeper connection between home and landscape. Whether transforming a front garden to enhance arrival and kerb appeal, reimagining a rear garden as an extension of the home, or bringing structure and balance to a larger countryside space, our focus remains the same—to create outdoor environments that feel elegant, functional and enduring.
Every project is carefully tailored to the lifestyle, aspirations and practical needs of the client, ensuring the finished garden feels natural, cohesive and deeply personal.
At the heart of our approach is a belief that exceptional gardens should feel effortless to experience, even though every detail has been carefully considered. With our extensive landscaping background, we take a holistic approach to garden design—balancing beauty, practicality, longevity and buildability within every project.
We consider not only the aesthetics of the space, but how the garden will function in everyday life, how it will mature over time and how it can be realised as seamlessly as possible during construction. From the overall layout through to the smallest details, every element has purpose and meaning within the wider design.
Our aim is always to provide a smooth and reassuring journey, guiding our clients from their existing garden towards a landscape that feels timeless, immersive and uniquely their own.

Tapestry Design Studios is led by Paul Baker, an award-winning designer and full member of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL). The studio itself is also recognised as a Design member of the APL, reflecting the highest standards of design knowledge, technical understanding and professional practice within the landscaping industry.
Throughout his career, Paul has overseen the creation of numerous nationally recognised award-winning gardens, combining creative vision with a deep understanding of construction and craftsmanship. Working closely alongside the team at Holland Landscapes, he ensures each design is carried through to completion with consistency, precision and attention to detail.
Every garden we create begins not with the space itself, but with the people who will live within it. Understanding how you wish to experience the garden is fundamental to our process, allowing us to create outdoor spaces that feel welcoming, engaging and entirely personal to your lifestyle.
Our designs seek to balance atmosphere, beauty and practicality in equal measure. Every corner of the garden is carefully considered, ensuring the space functions effortlessly while maintaining a strong sense of elegance and cohesion. Whether through carefully framed views, layered planting, bespoke features or thoughtfully positioned seating areas, every detail is designed to enhance the experience of the garden as a whole.
Because of our extensive landscaping expertise, practicality and buildability are considered from the very beginning. We understand the realities of construction, groundworks and materials, allowing us to resolve potential challenges long before work begins on site. This approach ensures the garden can be built efficiently, accurately and with complete confidence.
Once the design has been finalised, the focus turns to bringing the garden into reality. For projects within Essex and Suffolk, we often work closely with the award-winning team at Holland Landscapes, providing clients with a seamless design and build experience from concept through to completion.
As both companies are led by Paul Baker, there is a natural continuity between the design studio and construction team, helping ensure every detail of the original vision is carefully carried through during the build process.
For clients working with an alternative contractor, we are equally happy to collaborate alongside external landscapers, providing the drawings, specifications and ongoing support required to ensure the garden is realised with the same level of care, precision and craftsmanship.

Our garden is perfect for our house. It looks beautiful and really stands out. Miss VH.

We now have a garden that fulfils all our wishes and exceeds our expectations. We are so happy with our choice of designer and landscape company that we have asked them back to do some more work on the garden! Jane and Mark
