Meet The Team

Exceptional gardens are never the result of one idea alone. They are shaped by decades of experience, a passion for craftsmanship and an uncompromising commitment to detail. Led by Paul and Chris Baker, whose combined experience spans more than 60 years, the team at Tapestry Design Studios brings together award-winning garden design and expert landscape construction to create outdoor spaces of enduring beauty. Their collaborative approach ensures every project is guided with creativity, technical excellence and a genuine understanding of how people live, resulting in gardens that feel timeless, personal and effortlessly connected to their surroundings.

Paul Baker

Founder & Design Director

Paul Baker is a multi-award-winning garden designer whose career has been shaped by almost three decades of experience in both landscape design and construction. As a full member and committee member of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), he has developed a reputation for creating gardens that combine timeless design with exceptional technical understanding.

Unlike many designers, Paul’s expertise extends far beyond the drawing board. As co-owner of both Tapestry Design Studios and the award-winning Holland Landscapes, he brings a rare depth of construction knowledge to every project. This unique combination ensures each garden is designed not only for its beauty and character, but also with a complete understanding of how it will be built, allowing creativity and craftsmanship to work seamlessly together.

Founded by his father, Chris Baker, in the late 1980s, Holland Landscapes has become one of the region’s most respected landscape contractors, recognised nationally for the quality of its workmanship. Working closely with both businesses allows Paul to maintain continuity throughout the entire design and build process, ensuring the original vision is carefully preserved from the first concept through to the finished garden.

Throughout his career, Paul has overseen the creation of numerous nationally recognised award-winning gardens, combining thoughtful design with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine passion for creating landscapes that enrich the way people live outdoors. Every project reflects his belief that exceptional gardens should feel effortless, enduring and entirely personal to the people who enjoy them.
